Mark your calendars: Halloween Party/Dance fundraiser on Friday 10/24. Adult Day Care (Martini Saturday) Fundraiser, Saturday, 11/15. Dance Through the Decades Saturday, 4/18. It’s football season! Come and watch the games here at the VFW! Everything that is done here is done out of love for our Veterans and our Community! Join us!!

Your participation in and your support of our dinners and programs help fund programs for Veterans and our community. We appreciate you! Remember, the public is always welcome here at our Post.
Week 09/01-09/07:
Monday 09/01: Labor Day! Join us for Hamburgers and fresh cut fries at 2:30 PM. Donations please. Darts and Monday dinner will resume next week!
Tuesday 09/02: Victory Over Japan Remembered 7 pm
Tuesday 09/02: Join in a free art class by Art Expressions. Everyone is welcome to participate. Class is between 6pm-8pm. We need for everyone to register so that the instructor will have enough supplies. Register each week here! In September there is a special workshop with a guest artist on Dahomey banners. Weaving will also be a focus this week!
Tuesday, 09/02: High Staxx Poker will be hosting two games with VFW 6796 canteen gift cards as prizes. Play starts at 7:00pm. There are two games on Tuesdays. It’s a $10 tip per game for the dealer. This is not for cash prizes.
Tuesday, 09/02 Dinner: Carrie K is making her special individual rigatoni with meatballs, salad, garlic bread and dessert $10. This is the first guest chef in September and this will be a treat! Here is a photo from last week’s guest chef dinner! We are currently accepting volunteers for October Tuesday dinners. Contact Kelley or Sandra if you want to help!
Wednesday 09/03: Join us from 6pm-8pm for Wednesday drink specials with $3 wells, live music, and complimentary heavy appetizers on our VFW Commander Test Kitchen Night! Our Commander can cook! Don’t miss out! Catch live music from local talent, Greg Hosterman!
Thursday 09/04 : Auxiliary Meeting 7PM
Thursday night Dinner Special: Amy is in the kitchen making something great! Check out the post Facebook page closer to the 4th to see the menu. $12. Serving starts at 6:30 PM. Cowboys vs Eagles- kickoff 7:20 PM.
After dinner, sing your heart out at karaoke hosted by Ronnie Ray. It is a good time and you will be impressed with our local talent! Ronnie starts the fun at 7:00 pm!
Friday 09/05: VFW Friday Night Steak Night: Large Ribeye, baked potato, corn, salad, roll $20. Smoked sirloin $15. Add Kathi’s homemade Turtle cheesecake for $5 extra. Sales start at 6 (from your bartender) and dinner will be served at 6:30.
Saturday 09/06: College Football! Come up and watch #1 Texas play San Jose State. Army plays Kansas State at 6 PM. Football on ALL DAY LONG!
Sunday, 09/07: First Sunday Brunch! Start the month and the morning off right! How about an omelet, eggs your way, fresh blueberry pancakes or cinnamon french toast!? Add bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, potato casserole or hash brown patty. All of this for $8. 10-12. Best brunch in East Dallas! (Maybe in the universe!) Add some NFL Football for a perfect Sunday Funday! Watch with us!
Sunday, 09/07: Jam Session
The Sunday Jam session will be from 3-7 pm. Local musicians and music lovers gather to make music in a group setting. Everyone is welcome to participate or stop by to enjoy live music! We had quite a crowd last Sunday making some great sound! Thanks Zenbubba for bringing these incredible and talented musicians together!

Volunteer Opportunities: As a non-profit, we are always in need of volunteers for nights we serve food and other events that we are hosting. This is not only an opportunity for our members to show their support, but we welcome friends and family who are also interested in discovering more about our mission and the work we do for our Veterans and our community.
