What did you miss last week? Scroll down to see pictures! It was another busy week supporting our Veterans and our East Dallas community! Thank you volunteers and thank you to the many who support this Post! Special thanks to those that came out for 1st Sunday Brunch! We served 83 breakfasts in less than 2 hours! Volunteers: Marine Mike, Stu, TJ, Sandra, Susan, Kathi, Nick, Tori, Georgie & Van! We couldn’t do it without you! Many many thanks!
Mark your calendars: Halloween Party/Dance fundraiser on Friday 10/24. Adult Day Care (Martini Saturday) Fundraiser, Saturday, 11/15. Dance Through the Decades Saturday, 4/18. It’s football season! Come and watch the games here at the VFW! Everything that is done here is done out of love for our Veterans and our Community! Join us!!

Your participation in and your support of our dinners and programs help fund programs for Veterans and our community. We appreciate you! Remember, the public is always welcome here at our Post.
Week 09/08-09/14:
Monday 09/08: Darts! No matter your skill level, come out and play darts! You will have fun!
Monday 09/08: Dinner! Bacon-wrapped Meatloaf sandwiches with fresh cut fries! $10.
Tuesday 09/09: Join in a free art class by Art Expressions. Everyone is welcome to participate. Class is between 6pm-8pm. We need for everyone to register so that the instructor will have enough supplies. Register each week here! In September there is a special workshop with a guest artist on Dahomey banners. Weaving will also be a focus this week!
Tuesday, 09/09: High Staxx Poker will be hosting two games with VFW 6796 canteen gift cards as prizes. Play starts at 7:00pm. There are two games on Tuesdays. It’s a $10 tip per game for the dealer. This is not for cash prizes.
Tuesday, 09/09 Dinner: Kathi and Kelley in the kitchen making Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Sammies with pasta salad and Dessert (Word on the street is that Lisa Parker is making homemade Cheesecake ice cream to pair with Kathi’s homemade Cheesecake squares! $10. We are currently accepting volunteers for October Tuesday dinners. Contact Kelley or Sandra if you want to help! Grab a friend and team up in the kitchen to provide a Tuesday night dinner!
Wednesday 09/10: Join us from 6pm-8pm for Wednesday drink specials with $3 wells, live music, and complimentary heavy appetizers on our VFW Commander Test Kitchen Night! Our Commander can cook! Last week was mini-meat loaves! Come and see what’s in store this week! Catch live music from local talent, Greg Hosterman!
Thursday 09/11 : POST Meeting 7PM
Thursday 09/11: Patriot Day: 6 PM-8PM Special Dinner
Thursday 09/11: NFL Football
After dinner, sing your heart out at karaoke hosted by Ronnie Ray. It is a good time and you will be impressed with our local talent! Ronnie starts the fun at 7:00 pm!
Friday 09/12: VFW Friday Night Dinner: Chicken Fried Steak plus all of the trimmings! $15. Sales start at 6 (from your bartender) and dinner will be served at 6:30.
Saturday 09/13: College Football! Texas plays UTEP at 3:15. Football on ALL DAY LONG!
Sunday, 09/14: Join us for Sunday NFL Football! Cowboys vs Giants 12 PM
Sunday, 09/14: Jam Session
The Sunday Jam session will be from 3-7 pm. Local musicians and music lovers gather to make music in a group setting. Everyone is welcome to participate or stop by to enjoy live music! We had quite a crowd last Sunday making some great sound! Thanks Zenbubba for bringing these incredible and talented musicians together!

Volunteer Opportunities: As a non-profit, we are always in need of volunteers for nights we serve food and other events that we are hosting. This is not only an opportunity for our members to show their support, but we welcome friends and family who are also interested in discovering more about our mission and the work we do for our Veterans and our community.
