What did you miss last week? Scroll down to see pictures! It was another busy week supporting our Veterans and our East Dallas community! Thank you volunteers and thank you to the many who support this Post! The Auxiliary and Volunteer Appreciation was a huge success! Some comments overheard: “That is the best steak I have ever had”, “Wow! that is the best meal I have had at the VFW” and “That steak was so tender and flavorful, the fresh green beans were seasoned just right and the mashed potatoes…SO GOOD” Here are some photos:

Mark your calendars: Halloween Party/Dance fundraiser on Friday, 10/24. Tickets go on sale this week from your bartender! $10. Dr. MRE Cook-Off on Saturday, 10/25. Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, 11/8. Adult Day Care (Martini Saturday) Fundraiser, Saturday, 11/15. Dance Through the Decades Saturday, 4/18. It’s football season! Come and watch the games here at the VFW!
Everything that is done here is done out of love for our Veterans and our Community! Join us!! Calling all Volunteers: We need Tuesday Night Dinners covered in November. Sign Up Sheet on the back bulletin board by the kitchen. Grab a friend and sign up! Have fun in the kitchen!

Week 09/22-09/28:
Monday 09/22: Come out and play Darts on our supercool electronic dartboards! No matter your skill level, you are welcome! 7PM
Monday 09/22: Dinner! Chicken Tenders, Fresh cut fries, Gravy and roll. $10.
Tuesday 09/23: Join in a free art class. Art Expressions Workshops by No Limits Arts Theatre. 6pm-8pm. Please register so that the instructor will have enough supplies. Register each week here! All are welcome! In September there is a special workshop with a guest artist on Dahomey banners. Bead bracelets will also be a focus this week!
Tuesday, 09/23: High Staxx Poker will be hosting two games with VFW 6796 canteen gift cards as prizes. Play starts at 7:00pm. There are two games on Tuesdays. It’s a $10 tip per game for the dealer. This is not for cash prizes.
Tuesday, 09/23 Dinner: Rose R., our guest Chef this week, is making Chicken Broccoli Casserole, salad, roll & dessert! $10. Join us for some comfort food!
We are actively looking for volunteers for November Tuesday dinners. Contact Kelley or Sandra if you want to help! Grab a friend and team up in the kitchen to provide a Tuesday night dinner! It’s FUN! (Really, it is!)
Wednesday 09/24: Join us from 6pm-8pm for Wednesday drink specials with $3 wells, live music, and complimentary heavy appetizers on our VFW Commander Test Kitchen Night! Catch live music from local talent, Greg Hosterman! Here is what you missed last week, our Commander’s birthday!
Thursday 09/25: Post Meeting 7 PM
Thursday 09/25: Amy will be making a very special dinner! $12. Serving at 6:30.
Thursday 09/25: Ronnie Ray Karaoke at 7 PM. Come out and sing your favorite songs!
Friday 09/26: VFW Friday Night Dinner: Allison is making her world-famous meatloaf with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, green beans and dessert. Sales start at 6 (from your bartender) and dinner served at 6:30. If the kitchen is ready earlier than 6:30, we may start serving earlier. $15.
Friday 09/26: #24 TCU plays AZ State at 8PM. Game on inside and out!
Saturday 09/27: Week 5 College Football! Texas is resting up for next Saturday. #22 Notre Dame vs Arkansas 11AM, #4 LSU vs #13 Ole Miss at 2:30. #17 Alabama vs #5 GA at 6:30. Football on ALL DAY LONG! Inside and Out!
Sunday, 09/28: Join us for Sunday NFL Football! Games on Inside & Out All Day! Packers at Cowboys 7:20 PM Start!
Sunday, 09/28: Jam Session The Sunday Jam session from 3-7 pm. Local musicians and music lovers gather to make music in a group setting. Everyone is welcome! Thanks ZenBubba for bringing these incredible and talented musicians together!
