Tickets are on sale from your bartender for the Halloween Party Fundraiser! $10. Lots of great food (sign up sheet on back bulletin board by the kitchen…please sign up to bring food!), DJ Cruisin’ Al, Costume Contest with prizes and some fantastic Raffle packages. Lists are circulating at the Post if you want to check them out.
Mark your calendars: Halloween Party/Dance fundraiser on Friday, 10/24 (see above!) Dr. MRE Cook-Off on Saturday, 10/25. Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, 11/8. Adult Day Care (Martini Saturday) Fundraiser on Saturday, 11/15. Dance Through the Decades Saturday, 4/18. It’s football season! Come and watch the games here at the VFW!

You may have noticed some improvements around the place! We have a snazzy new quartz countertop between the canteen and the dart room. We will be painting soon along with some other projects. We aren’t done and we hope that you like what you see!

Week 09/29-10/5:
Monday 09/29: Come out and play Darts on our supercool electronic dartboards! No matter your skill level, you are welcome! 7PM
Monday 09/29: Dinner! Tacos, Chips & Salsa $10. 6:30. May start earlier if kitchen staff is ready early!
Tuesday 09/30: Join in a free art class. Art Expressions Workshops by No Limits Arts Theatre. 6pm-8pm. Please register so that the instructor will have enough supplies. Register each week here! All are welcome!
Tuesday, 09/30: High Staxx Poker will be hosting two games with VFW 6796 canteen gift cards as prizes. Play starts at 7:00pm. There are two games on Tuesdays. It’s a $10 tip per game for the dealer. This is not for cash prizes.
Tuesday, 09/30 Dinner: Peter (our Senior Vice and it is his birthday!) and his beautiful wife, Kacey serving Pizza and Salad $10. 6:30.
We are actively looking for volunteers for November Tuesday dinners. Contact Kelley or Sandra if you want to help! Grab a friend and team up in the kitchen to provide a Tuesday night dinner! It’s FUN! (Really, it is!)
Wednesday 10/01: Join us from 6pm-8pm for Wednesday drink specials with $3 wells, live music, and complimentary heavy appetizers on our VFW Commander Test Kitchen Night! Catch live music from local talent, Greg Hosterman! Last week we had real English fish & chips!
Thursday 10/02: Auxiliary Meeting 7 PM
Thursday 10/02: Tori is making Pork chops, mashed potatoes and Asparagus. Cindy S. will be helping to serve. $12. Serving at 6:30. It is going to be SO GOOD!
Thursday 10/02: Ronnie Ray Karaoke at 7 PM. Come out and sing your favorite songs!
Friday 10/03: VFW Friday Night Dinner: IT’S STEAK NIGHT! Ribeye ($20) or Smoked Sirloin ($15) with baked potato, salad and corn. Mushrooms and Horseradish Cream optional. Kathi’s special homemade cheesecake is $5 extra and worth every penny! Sales start at 6 (from your bartender) and dinner served at 6:30. If the kitchen is ready earlier than 6:30, we may start serving earlier.
Saturday 10/04: Week 6 College Football! #12 Georgia vs Kentucky at 11 AM. #9 Texas plays Florida at 2:30. #6 TX A&M plays MS State at 6:30. Football on ALL DAY LONG! Inside and Out!
Sunday, 10/05: 1st Sunday Brunch! Omelet or Eggs your way, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, potato casserole or hash brown patty. Try our fresh Blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup or Cinnamon French Toast. $8. 10 AM-12 PM. PS. Special Cowboy Brunch on 10/12. 11AM-1PM for the big game! More in next week’s Newsletter!
Sunday, 10/05: Cowboys vs Jets 12 noon kickoff! Football on ALL DAY!! Join us!
Sunday, 10/05: Jam Session The Sunday Jam session from 3-7 pm. Local musicians and music lovers gather to make music in a group setting. Everyone is welcome! Thanks ZenBubba for bringing these incredible and talented musicians together!
