We have volunteer opportunities available. Our post serves food to Veterans, families and our community nearly every night of the week(see calendar below). We need help in the kitchen. No experience needed so if you want to have fun and volunteer at the same time, please consider signing up to serve or help with our upcoming dinners by emailing volunteer@vfw6796.org or contact Kelley at 214-704-4628. Week 05/26-06/01:
Monday 05/26: Memorial Day: A day to honor and mourn our US Military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The VFW Post 6796 will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, and french fries beginning at 3PM.
Darts: 7:00-7:30 pm start time. Every season we welcome new players. All skill levels are welcome to join. Spread the word to friends who may be interested or those looking to take up a fun hobby!
Tuesday 05/27: Join in a free art class by Art Expressions every Tuesday to experience a new craft every week. Everyone is welcome to participate. Class is between 6pm-8pm. More information can be found here: https://nolimitsartstheatre.org/event-calendar/
High Staxx Poker will be hosting two games with VFW 6796 canteen gift cards as prizes. Play starts at 7:00pm. There are two games on Tuesdays. It’s a $10 tip per game for the dealer. This is not for cash prizes. Tonight’s dinner will be Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs & Fries for $10. Serving begins at 6:30pm.
Wednesday 05/28: Join us from 6pm-8pm for our Wednesday drink specials with $3 wells, live music, and heavy appetizers on our VFW Commander Test Kitchen Night. Our Commander chooses anything from Prime Rib sandwiches to Shrimp Cocktail! Drop by to listen to some good tunes and to try our test kitchen treats!
Thursday 05/29: Thursday night Dinner Special: Amy is serving her special spaghetti, green beans, salad & garlic bread $10. Serving starts at 6:30 PM
After dinner, sing your heart out at karaoke hosted by Ronnie Ray. It is a good time and you will hear our local talent! Prepare to be “WOW’ed!” Ronnie starts the fun at 7:00 pm!
Friday 05/30: Skip cooking after a long week and join us for our weekly Friday night dinner. This Friday’s menu is Rhea’s Ravishing, Rich Green Chile Enchiladas, Rice, Beans & Dessert for $15. Dinner will be served at 6:30.
Sunday 06/01: The now-famous, first Sunday of the month Sunday Brunch! Your all-star volunteer staff is making omelets, eggs your way or fresh blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, hash brown patty or potato casserole. Serving from 10 AM-12 PM. $8.
Drop in for our weekly Sunday Jam session from 3-7 pm. Local musicians and music lovers gather to make melodious tunes. Everyone is welcome to participate or stop by to enjoy live music! 🎶

Our hall is open for events! We have a great venue for all types of functions: Receptions, Memorial/Celebration of Life gatherings, Birthdays, Graduations, Parties of any kind! Check out our online booking system to see availability and to request a date for your event: VFW Hall Rental Availability! Lease-out charges depend on days and times. Consider us for your next event… our rates are affordable, especially compared to other venues.

Volunteer Opportunities: As a non-profit, we are always in need of volunteers for nights we serve food and other events that we are hosting. This is not only an opportunity for our members to show their support, but we welcome friends and family who are also interested in discovering more about our mission and the work we do for our Veterans and our community.
