What did you miss last week? Scroll down to see pictures! Friday, 6/6 D-Day Ceremony, VFW Steak Night (6/6) brought in members from other posts in the state of Texas due to the State Convention all weekend. Post and Auxiliary awards were presented on Sunday, 6/8.
Volunteer opportunities are available. Our post serves food to Veterans, families and our community nearly every night of the week(see calendar below). We need help in the kitchen. No experience needed so if you want to have fun and volunteer at the same time, please consider signing up to serve or help with our upcoming dinners by emailing volunteer@vfw6796.org or contact Kelley at 214-704-4628. Week 06/09-06/15:
Monday 06/09: Darts: 7:00-7:30 pm start time. All skill levels are welcome to join. Spread the word to friends who may be interested or those looking to take up a fun hobby! Dinner served at 6:30. Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich plus fries. $12
Tuesday 06/10: Join in a free art class by Art Expressions every Tuesday to experience a new craft every week. Everyone is welcome to participate. Class is between 6pm-8pm. More information can be found here: https://nolimitsartstheatre.org/event-calendar/
High Staxx Poker will be hosting two games with VFW 6796 canteen gift cards as prizes. Play starts at 7:00pm. There are two games on Tuesdays. It’s a $10 tip per game for the dealer. This is not for cash prizes. Tonight’s dinner will be Chicken Fried Steak Sandwiches and fries $12. Serving begins at 6:30pm.
Wednesday 06/11: Join us from 6pm-8pm for our Wednesday drink specials with $3 wells, live music, and heavy appetizers on our VFW Commander Test Kitchen Night. Our Commander chooses anything from Prime Rib sandwiches to Shrimp Cocktail! Drop by to listen to some good tunes and to try our test kitchen treats!
Thursday 06/12: Post Meeting 7PM
Thursday night Dinner Special: Amy is serving Brilliantly Baked Rigatoni (it’s awesome!), green beans, salad, garlic bread $12. Serving starts at 6:30 PM
After dinner, sing your heart out at karaoke hosted by Ronnie Ray. It is a good time and you will hear our local talent! Prepare to be “WOW’ed!” Ronnie starts the fun at 7:00 pm!
Friday 06/13: It is your lucky day! Comfort Cravings? We have you covered! Get your fix with a full Southern-style spread: Chicken Fried Steak • Creamy Mashed Potatoes • Tender Green Beans • Fresh Salad • Dessert
ALL for just $15! Sales start at 6 and dinner will be served at 6:30.
Saturday 06/14: Happy birthday U.S. Army! Flag Day
Sunday 06/15: Happy Father’s Day! The Auxiliary is making a special meal for Dads! Join us at 1PM. We have a calendar meeting at 1:30
Drop in for our weekly Sunday Jam session from 3-7 pm. Local musicians and music lovers gather to make melodious tunes. Everyone is welcome to participate or stop by to enjoy live music! 🎶
