What did you miss last week? Scroll down to see pictures! Our volunteers worked together in the kitchen, members and guests had fun singing karaoke, Post & Auxiliary members worked on the July calendar. It was another busy week!
Volunteer opportunities are available. Our post serves food to Veterans, families and our community nearly every night of the week(see calendar below). We need help in the kitchen. No experience needed so if you want to have fun and volunteer at the same time, please consider signing up to serve or help with our upcoming dinners by emailing volunteer@vfw6796.org or contact Kelley at 214-704-4628. Week 06/16-06/23:
Monday 06/16: Darts: 7:00-7:30 pm start time. All skill levels are welcome to join. Spread the word to friends who may be interested or those looking to take up a fun hobby! Dinner served at 6:30. Hamburgers, Hot Dogs plus fries. $12
Tuesday 06/17: Join in a free art class by Art Expressions every Tuesday to experience a new craft every week. Everyone is welcome to participate. Class is between 6pm-8pm. More information can be found here: https://nolimitsartstheatre.org/event-calendar/
High Staxx Poker will be hosting two games with VFW 6796 canteen gift cards as prizes. Play starts at 7:00pm. There are two games on Tuesdays. It’s a $10 tip per game for the dealer. This is not for cash prizes. Tonight’s dinner will be Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and fries $12. Serving begins at 6:30pm.
Wednesday 06/18: Join us from 6pm-8pm for Wednesday drink specials with $3 wells, live music, and heavy appetizers on our VFW Commander Test Kitchen Night. Our Commander chooses anything from Prime Rib sandwiches to Shrimp Cocktail! Drop by to listen to some good tunes and to try our test kitchen treats! Celebrating all of you June birthday people! Let all of us eat cake!! 7 PM
Thursday 06/19: Cootie Meeting 7PM
Thursday night Dinner Special: Logan is cooking this week! Check out the Post Facebook page as we get closer to see what scrumptious surprise he will be cooking up! $12. Serving starts at 6:30 PM
After dinner, sing your heart out at karaoke hosted by Ronnie Ray. It is a good time and you will be impressed with our local talent! Ronnie starts the fun at 7:00 pm!
Friday 06/20: VFW Famous Fried Catfish…enjoy choice of fries or dirty rice plus homemade cole slaw and hushpuppies. Dessert an additional $5
ALL for just $15! Sales start at 6 (from your bartender) and dinner will be served at 6:30.
Sunday 06/21: Drop in for our weekly Sunday Jam session from 3-7 pm. Local musicians and music lovers gather to make melodious music. Everyone is welcome to participate or stop by to enjoy live music! 🎶

Volunteer Opportunities: As a non-profit, we are always in need of volunteers for nights we serve food and other events that we are hosting. This is not only an opportunity for our members to show their support, but we welcome friends and family who are also interested in discovering more about our mission and the work we do for our Veterans and our community.
