What did you miss last week? Scroll down to see pictures! It was another busy week with fun, food and better yet…a record setting brunch! 111 served! New world record!!! Woohooooo! Thank you volunteers and thank you to the many who support this fundraiser! Mark your calendars: Halloween Party/Dance on Friday 10/24. Adult Day Care Saturday, 11/15. Dance Through the Decades Saturday, 4/18.
Volunteer opportunities are available. Our post serves food to Veterans, families and our community nearly every night of the week(see calendar below). We need help in the kitchen. No experience needed so if you want to have fun and volunteer at the same time, please consider signing up to serve or help with our upcoming dinners by emailing volunteer@vfw6796.org or contact Kelley at 214-704-4628. Week 08/04-08/10:
Monday 08/04: Darts: 7:00-7:30 pm start time. All skill levels are welcome to join. Spread the word to friends who may be interested or those looking to take up a fun hobby! Dinner served at 6: Hamburgers, hot dogs and fresh cut fries $12.
Tuesday 08/05: Join in a free art class by Art Expressions every Tuesday to experience a new craft every week. Everyone is welcome to participate. Class is between 6pm-8pm. More information can be found here: https://nolimitsartstheatre.org/event-calendar/
High Staxx Poker will be hosting two games with VFW 6796 canteen gift cards as prizes. Play starts at 7:00pm. There are two games on Tuesdays. It’s a $10 tip per game for the dealer. This is not for cash prizes. Tonight’s dinner will be Chicken tenders, fresh cut fries, gravy and a roll. $12 Serving begins at 6:30pm.
Wednesday 08/06: Join us from 6pm-8pm for Wednesday drink specials with $3 wells, live music, and heavy appetizers on our VFW Commander Test Kitchen Night! See what’s being served this week! Catch live music from local talent, Greg Hosterman!
Thursday 08/07 : Thursday night Dinner Special: Amy is Baaaack! Check out the Post Facebook page later this week to see what she will be serving! $12. Serving starts at 6:30 PM
After dinner, sing your heart out at karaoke hosted by Ronnie Ray. It is a good time and you will be impressed with our local talent! Ronnie starts the fun at 7:00 pm!
Friday 08/08: VFW Friday Chicken Fried Steak Night! Chicken fried steak, made from scratch mashed potatoes (the good stuff!), green beans, biscuits, gravy. $15. Sales start at 6 (from your bartender) and dinner will be served at 6:30.
Sunday, 08/10: The Sunday Jam session will be from 3-7 pm. Local musicians and music lovers gather to make music in a group setting. Everyone is welcome to participate or stop by to enjoy live music! 🎶

Volunteer Opportunities: As a non-profit, we are always in need of volunteers for nights we serve food and other events that we are hosting. This is not only an opportunity for our members to show their support, but we welcome friends and family who are also interested in discovering more about our mission and the work we do for our Veterans and our community.
